Our Approach

Food that fits the rest of the day

Dining at Ayu follows the same idea as everything else here — keep it simple, and let it feel good. Meals are pure vegetarian, prepared fresh and built around what's in season, rather than a long fixed menu.

That last part matters more than it sounds. When the kitchen cooks to the season instead of to a laminated card, meals change through the year, portions arrive when they're ready, and nothing has been sitting under a lamp waiting for you to order it. It is a quieter way to eat, and it suits the pace of a stay here.

For guests who eat only vegetarian food, there is also the simple relief of not having to ask. There is no separate kitchen and no separate menu — the whole property is pure vegetarian.

Pure Vegetarian Wholesome Fresh Seasonal Thoughtfully Prepared
What to Expect

Fresh, seasonal and unfussy

Four things that shape every meal served here.

A Pure Vegetarian Kitchen

Every kitchen on the property is vegetarian — no exceptions, no separate section, nothing to check.

Built Around the Season

What's cooked follows what's good right now, rather than a fixed menu repeated all year.

Prepared Fresh

Food is cooked for the meal it's meant for — you'll often hear the kitchen working as you sit down.

Wholesome, Not Heavy

Meals meant to leave you comfortable enough to walk, stretch or sit quietly afterwards.

Where You Eat

An open-air dining hall, looking out onto the trees

Meals are served in our open-air dining hall — simple seating, good light, and a kitchen you can hear working nearby. There is no piped music and no rush to turn the table over.

It changes how a meal feels. Eating in open air, with trees on all sides and the sounds of the property around you, tends to slow people down without anyone suggesting it — which is rather the point of coming this far out of the city in the first place.

Food & Wellness

Vegetarian food as part of a wellness retreat

Food here isn't a separate department. It belongs to the same idea as everything else on the property — the unhurried mornings, the gentle movement, the quiet time built into the day.

That thinking comes from our wider approach, which is rooted in Ayurvedic principles of balance: how you rest, how you move and how you eat, treated as one thing rather than three. You can read more about that on our Ayurveda retreat page.

In practice, most guests notice the eating part changes first: sitting down properly, at a reasonable hour, without a screen in front of them.

Our food and wellness experience is about relaxation, balance and mindful living. It is not a medical treatment, it does not diagnose or cure any condition, and it does not replace advice from a qualified doctor.

Why Here

Why choose pure vegetarian dining near Bangalore?

Honest reasons, based on what this place actually is.

Nothing to negotiate

A completely vegetarian property means no shared kitchens and no questions at the table.

Away from the congestion

A meal in the hills of Doddaballapura, rather than another table in the middle of the city.

Open air, not a dining room

Trees, daylight and quiet instead of air conditioning and background music.

Part of a longer stay

Dining sits inside a wellness stay — you are not just visiting for a meal and driving back.

Cooked for the day, not the year

Seasonal and fresh, which is easier to promise on a short menu than a long one.

Dietary needs, handled early

More Than a Meal

What else a visit here includes

Guests rarely come only for the food, and we would not suggest you do either. Meals sit alongside gentle yoga, meditation and quiet time, walks on the property, and rooms that are made for sleeping well.
